How do I read the AI Visibility dashboard?
How to read the AI visibility Overview: four headline KPIs with their change, the trend charts, the leaderboards and the topic rankings.
The AI visibility section shows how your brand appears inside AI answers. This article explains what each part of the Overview page means and how to read it from top to bottom. Overview is the page that opens when you choose AI visibility under Measure in the sidebar; the other breakdowns, such as Evidence, Competitors, Prompts, Platforms, Regions, Sentiment and Citations, are listed in the menu down the left-hand side of the section.
The top row holds four headline metrics. Visibility is the percentage of AI responses for your tracked prompts that mention your brand. Share of Voice is your share of every brand mention the AI engines make, not just mentions of the competitors you track. Average Position shows how early you are named when you are mentioned, where #1 is the opening of the answer and lower is better. Citation Share is the share of citations that point at your own domain rather than at competitors or third-party sources.
Each KPI shows its change against the comparison period chosen in the filter bar. For these rate metrics the change is shown in points, so a move from 15% to 17% reads as +2%. Green means better and red means worse, and lower-is-better metrics such as Average Position flip the colours, so a drop in position shows green. The same change indicator is used across the platform, so it reads the same way everywhere.
Below the KPIs the page is laid out in pairs. Visibility Over Time plots your trend next to a Visibility Score Rank of every brand the engines named. Share of Voice pairs a donut chart with a leaderboard. Average Position Over Time sits beside an Average Position Rank. At the bottom, Visibility Rankings by Topic lists the domains AI engines cite most for each topic and prompt, with a status pill for your own rank: Leader (top 3), Progressing (4 to 10), Needs work (outside the top 10) or No data yet, which simply means the scan has not returned a cited source for that topic so far.
How to read the dashboard
- Open AI visibility from the Measure section of the sidebar; it lands on Overview.
- Scan the four KPIs and their changes to see overall movement.
- Read Visibility Over Time. Use the legend to show or hide the previous period and individual competitors, and the Compare competitors switch to turn competitor lines on or off.
- Check the leaderboards to see where you sit against every brand the engines mention.
- Work through Visibility Rankings by Topic to find the topics marked Needs work.
- Use the filter bar at the top to change the period, comparison, graph interval, regions, platforms, topics or tags.
- Hover the small "i" icon next to any metric for a one-line definition.
- Click a number or a point on a chart to open Evidence and see the AI answers behind it.
- If a scan is still running, a banner says so and topics may show No data yet until it finishes.
Tip: the filter bar writes your choices to the page address, so a filtered view can be bookmarked or shared as a link, and the filters carry over as you move between AI visibility pages.
