What is Average Position?

Average Position is where your brand tends to appear inside an answer when it is mentioned — named first, second, third, and so on. Lower is better (#1 = mentioned first).

How it's calculated We record the order your brand is named in each response, then average it across every answer where you were mentioned. Answers that don't mention you don't count.

Why it matters Being named last in a list of ten carries less weight than being the first brand mentioned. Position captures the nuance a yes/no mention can't.
