What does the onboarding flow actually do?
It builds your brand profile, discovers competitors, and generates a starting set of AI prompts to track.
Onboarding is the bridge between an empty account and a useful dashboard. It captures three things WriteWorks can't infer from your domain alone, then kicks off the first scan.
Stage 1 — Workspace (≈2 mins)
- Organisation name, domain, your name.
- Main goals (improve AI search, recover traffic, etc.) — multi-select.
- Tools you already use (Profound, Ahrefs, Semrush, etc.) — so we don't recommend what you already have.
Stage 2 — Brand (≈3–4 mins)
- AI analysis of your site's positioning: category, target market, USP, keywords.
- Competitor discovery: we surface direct competitors and adjacent brands from search overlap.
- You pick which to track (up to 5 on most plans).
Stage 3 — Prompts (≈1–2 mins)
- We generate an initial set of high-intent prompts based on your category + competitors.
- You review, prune, and approve.
All progress saves as you go. You can leave and resume from the "Resume setup" pill in the header until the third checkpoint flips.
