How do the editor's Search, Human and Brand reviews work?

The editor's right-hand panel scores your draft three ways: Search (SEO, AEO and GEO), Human Signal (experience, expertise and information gain) and Brand, with fixes and highlights.

The editor's right-hand panel has a tab for each review: Search, Human and Brand, plus Comments. Each review looks at your draft from a different angle and gives you fixes you can act on, and highlights can mark the passages that need work directly in the draft. This article explains what each review checks and how to run it.

Search scores the draft three ways. SEO checks whether it can rank in Google, AEO checks whether an AI engine can lift a clean, self-contained answer from it, and GEO checks whether it is worth citing as a source. These scores update live as you type. Run Search review adds an AI review with suggested rewrites you can apply in place. Switch between Top fixes and the Full audit, and use Simple view to go back.

Human runs a Human Signal review: a score out of 100 for evidence of real experience, expertise and original thinking. It covers six dimensions: Experience, Information gain, Expertise, Trust, Authority and Natural voice. Information gain carries the most weight, because it compares your draft with what AI engines already answer for your tracked prompts and with the top Google results, so it rewards what only you can say. Adding substance moves the score; rewording barely does. Fixes are grouped by impact (High impact, Medium and Minor), and some fixes ask you questions about your own experience so you can add genuine detail. You also see Writing-pattern signals and a Run history to compare with your previous run.

Brand checks the draft against your brand voice, tone, audience, key messages and banned terms, using your Context and default brand kit, and suggests rewrites.

How to run the reviews

  1. Open a draft in Create → Editor and open the right-hand panel.
  2. On the Search tab, click Run Search review.
  3. On the Human tab, click Run Human Signal review. It usually takes 20 to 40 seconds.
  4. On the Brand tab, click Run Brand review.
  5. Turn on Highlight in draft to see where each issue sits, then work through the fixes.

A few things to know

  • The Human Signal review needs at least 300 words. Below that, you only see a rule-based estimate.
  • If you edit the draft after a review, re-run it to update the results.
  • Reviews use your organisation's AI tokens.
  • The AI likelihood card, part of the AI Detection add-on, is not yet available. No AI likelihood score is shown until the detector passes WriteWorks' accuracy validation, and scans do not count until then.

Tip: start with the High impact fixes in the Human review. Adding a real example or number usually lifts all three reviews at once.
